Wheelchair Support Brings Hope and Inclusion to Children
with Disabilities in Mahama Refugee Camp
Today, in partnership with MINEMA and UNHCR, the
organization distributed the wheelchairs to 9 children with disabilities (6
boys and 3 girls) living in Mahama Refugee Camp.
The wheelchairs will provide life-changing benefits by
improving mobility, independence, dignity, and access to education,
rehabilitation, and social activities. The support also contributes to
strengthening inclusion and participation of children with disabilities within
the refugee community.
Parents and caregivers expressed appreciation for the
assistance, noting that the wheelchairs reduce physical strain and emotional
stress while enabling them to care for their children more effectively.
This initiative reflects the shared commitment of all
partners to ensuring that children with disabilities are included and have
access to essential services and opportunities needed for their wellbeing and
development.
