As part of the preparations for the upcoming International Women’s Day celebrations, a women’s volleyball match was organized today at Mugombwa Refugee Camp.
The event brought together women refugees in a friendly but competitive match designed to promote unity, empowerment, teamwork, and physical well-being among women in the camp.
The match was officially opened by officials from the Ministry in Charge of Emergency Management (MINEMA), who emphasized the importance of creating safe and supportive spaces where women can thrive, build confidence, and strengthen their sense of community.
This activity is one of several initiatives leading up to this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, reflecting ongoing efforts to promote inclusion, resilience, and empowerment for women living in refugee settings.
