Prison Fellowship Rwanda Joined GIZ implementing Partners at the Dutere Intambwe Project Closing Event in Mahama Refugee Camp

Today, GIZ with implementing partners including, Prison Fellowship Rwanda (PFR) , participated in the Closing Event of the Dutere Intambwe Project held at Mahama Refugee Camp, marking the culmination of a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting the self-reliance and self-determination of refugees and host communities.
The event convened members of the Dutere Intambwe Project Steering Committee, comprising the European Union (EU), the Ministry in Charge of Emergency Management (MINEMA), Kirehe District, UNHCR, Prison Fellowship Rwanda (PFR), Alight, 100WEEKS, Maison Shalom, and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It also brought together operational and implementing partners, government representatives, refugee representatives, and other key stakeholders actively engaged in community development efforts across Kirehe District.
The closing event featured an exhibition showcasing achievements, innovations, and success stories from implementing partners throughout the project period. Participants also attended presentations highlighting the project's progress, achievements, and impact within refugee and host communities.
A panel discussion involving operational and implementing partners, alongside refugee representatives, provided an opportunity to reflect on key accomplishments, lessons learned, sustainability measures, project exit strategies, and prospects for continued collaboration. Discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining partnerships and building on the gains achieved to ensure long-term impact and resilience.
The Dutere Intambwe Project has contributed significantly to enhancing livelihood opportunities, strengthening community resilience, and promoting social and economic inclusion among refugees and host communities. Through coordinated efforts and strategic partnerships, the project has demonstrated the value of collaborative approaches in advancing sustainable development.
